Welcome to the world's  largest network for LGBTQI young people & students

The queer future starts now

IGLYO

The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) Youth & Student Organisation

Founded in 1984 and based in Brussels, IGLYO is the largest member-based network in the world dedicated to LGBTQI youth and their rights. Today, we gather over 115 Member Organisations in 39 Council of Europe countries, as well as countless friends and partners worldwide. Our work focuses on the protection, empowerment, and freedom of LGBTQI young people between 18-30 years old.

Our aim? Fighting & teaching how to fight!

We strive to ensure the voices and experiences of LGBTQI young people are present and heard by decision-makers at European and international levels by designing and conducting research, advocacy, and communications on our concerns.

In addition, IGLYO aims to build the confidence, skills and experience of LGBTQI young people and give them opportunities to connect through cross-cultural, cross-border exchange, peer learning, and training activities that support our communities as well as the protection of our rights.

Our activities

We work to strengthen LGBTQI youth rights, ensure equality and inclusion, and represent the intersectional needs of LGBTQI young people. We achieve this within international, European, national and local policy and legal mechanisms.

Check out our advocacy activities

We train, support, and build the skills of LGBTQI youth organisations, activists, leaders, and volunteers to represent, advocate on behalf of, and serve our communities more effectively, influencing sustainable societal change and increasing the visibility of our movements.

Check out our capacity-building activities

We foster international cooperation across Europe and beyond by maintaining and growing an engaged, connected, and well-functioning pan-European network of LGBTQI youth organisations and activists, which facilitates peer-learning and support.

Led by LGBTQI youth, for LGBTQI youth

Who could better run an LGBTQI youth network than LGBTQI young people themselves? Our queer and young-spirited Board, staff, governance team and working groups all work hand in hand to see IGLYO’s mission through.
