LGBTQI partners
EL*C is a lesbian feminist and intersectional network. They represent the needs surrounding the rights, visibility and well-being of lesbians throughout Europe and Central Asia. their conferences are shaping connections, sharing knowledge, finding common languages and understandings of our diversities, building bridges that reach and impact far beyond the time and space at which they take place.
IGLYO and EL*C have been collaborating on several activities over the years, including our current research project on the needs and lived experiences of LBTIQ girls, young women and non-binary youth.
The European Parliament Intergroup on LGBTI Rights is an informal forum for Members of the European Parliament who wish to advance and protect the fundamental rights of LGBTI people. It is the largest of the European Parliament’s 27 Intergroups, with 150+ Members.
IGLYO regularly meets with the European Parliament’s LGBTI Intergroup and they consult us on specific issues pertaining to LGBTQI youth issues and rights.
The primary objective of The Global Queer Youth Network is to connect and strengthen regional and international LGBTIQ youth civil society organisations so they can better support youth with diverse sexual orientation, gender identity, expression and sex characteristics and advocate for their issues on a global level. To achieve this, the GQYN hosts a series of events, engagements, and interventions throughout the year.
In 2020, IGLYO became a part of the Global Queer Youth Network Development Committee, and all IGLYO Members are invited to participate in their events.
ILGA-Europe is an independent, international non-governmental umbrella organisation uniting over 600 organisations from 54 countries across Europe and Central Asia. ILGA works for a world in which each and every LGBTI person is free, equal and safe, through resourcing and connecting communities, driving political change, and amplifying voices.
IGLYO has been a member of ILGA-Europe for many years and has a strong history of partnership work, be it through projects, publications or activities. We're also regularly contributing to ILGA-Europe’s Annual Conference, where we've been running workshops on topics including LGBTQ Families, Intersectionality, and Education.
OII Europe (Organisation Intersex International Europe) is the umbrella organisation of European human rights based and intersex-led organisations. OII Europe works for the protection of intersex persons’ human rights in Europe and Central Asia.
IGLYO is delighted to have formed a partnership with OII Europe since 2015. Since then, we have collaborated on a variety of projects and activities.
The Safe Space Alliance is a LGBTQI+ led nonprofit organisation that aims to help people identify, navigate, and create safe spaces for LGBTQI+ communities worldwide. With over 250 LGBTQI+ Partner organisations globally, they work to grow space where LGBTQI+ communities can freely express themselves without fear.
IGLYO and the Safe Space Alliance have partnered in 2023 and will support and disseminate each other's activities.
TGEU is a member-based organisation with a mission to strengthen the rights and well-being of trans people in Europe and Central Asia. They currently count 200 member organisations in 48 different countries.
Although IGLYO’s links with TGEU have existed for many years, we were pleased to become one of their first European-wide members in 2015 and have been collaborating on many projects together since then.
Youth partners
The European Students’ Union (ESU) is the umbrella organisation of 45 National Unions of Students (NUS) from 40 countries, representing almost 20 million students in Europe. The aim of ESU is to represent and promote the educational, social, economic and cultural interests of students at the European level towards all relevant bodies.
IGLYO has been working closely with ESU for years and is a proud associate member of the network.
The European Youth Forum is the platform of youth organisations in Europe, representing over 100 youth organisations and bringing together tens of millions of young people from all over Europe. They work to empower young people to participate actively in society to improve their own lives by representing and advocating their needs and interests and those of their organisations.
As one of their few member organisations with a specifically human rights agenda, and the only one with an LGBTQI focus, IGLYO actively participates in YFJ’s Council of Members and other events to ensure that the needs of LGBTQ youth are taken into account in the Youth Forum’s work and policy documents.
OBESSU is the platform for cooperation between the national school student unions active in general secondary and secondary vocational education in Europe.
OBESSU has been close ally of IGLYO in the struggle against bullying and advocacy for inclusive education, and we've partnered in the frame of several publications and activities.
Human Rights partners
The European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG) is a patient-led NGO that advocates for the rights and interests of people living with or affected by HIV/ AIDS and related co-infections within the WHO Europe region. Founded in 1992, the EATG is a network of more than 150 members from 45 countries in Europe. Their members are people living with HIV and representatives of different communities affected by HIV/AIDS and co-infections. EATG represents the diversity of more than 2.3 million people living with HIV in Europe as well as those affected by HIV/AIDS and co-infections.
EATG has been working with IGLYO since early 2010’s, co-organising sessions in the frame of ILGA-Europe’s general assemblies and other activities.
The European Forum of LGBTI+ Christian Groups is an ecumenical association of LGBTI+ Christian groups in Europe. Representing over 40 member groups from more than 20 countries in Europe, the European Forum works for freedom of religion for LGBTI+ people, for human rights, for the dignity of LGBTI+ people and for an affirmative discourse on human sexuality. We've collaborated together on sessions in high-level events such as the IDAHOT Forum and we are both partners of the European Governmental LGBTI Focal Points Network.
ENAR is the only pan-European anti-racism network that combines advocacy for racial equality and facilitating cooperation among civil society anti-racism actors in Europe. Their mission is to achieve legal changes at European level and make decisive progress towards racial equality in all EU Member States.
IGLYO has been liaising with ENAR to increase our capacity on intercultural and inter-religious dialogue and multiple discrimination. Additionally, ENAR and IGLYO have often joined lobbying positions when advocating at the EU level.
The Intergroup on Children’s Rights represents the first formal body in the EP that mainstreams children’s rights and assesses the impact of legislative and non-legislative work on children. It is a cross-party, cross-national group of committed MEPs, whose aim is to promote children’s rights and ensure that the best interest of the child is taken into account in EU internal and external action.
IGLYO regularly collaborates with the Intergroup on Children's Rights and they consult us on specific issues pertaining to LGBTQI youth issues and rights.
ESWA is a sex worker-led network proudly representing more than 100 organisations in 30 countries across Europe and Central Asia. Their aim is to ensure that all sex worker voices are heard and that their human, health and labour rights are recognised and protected.
IGLYO is proud to support the work of ESWA, and we've been collaborating together with them on various activities including online events.
The Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) and its civil society branch the Fundamental Rights Platform (FRP) are institutions of the EU who are in charge of monitoring fundamental rights in the EU.
In January 2012, IGLYO became a member of the Fundamental Rights Platform (FRP), and we have been working closely with FRA on provide feedback on and disseminating its pan-European LGBTI surveys, which provide concrete data on LGBTQ rights.
GAMIAN-Europe (Global Alliance of Mental Illness Advocacy Networks-Europe) is a patient-driven pan-European organisation that represents the interests of persons affected by mental illness and advocates for their rights. Its main objectives are advocacy, information and education, anti-stigma and discrimination, patients’ rights, co-operation, partnerships and capacity building.
Since 2023, IGLYO has been collaborating with GAMIAN-Europe on project such as our LGBTQI Mental Health & Suicidality Awareness Toolkit.
GenderJobs.org is a platform with a comprehensive list of job opportunities to work on gender equality and LGBTQI+ rights, curated by gender professionals and intersectional feminists who intimately know the sector and are extremely passionate about supporting other gender professionals and anyone who is aspiring to become one. Stay tuned — their platform will be launched in early July 2023!

The Social Platform is the largest, leading organisation working on social issues. Collectively, they unite tens of thousands of organisations and hundreds of millions of people in Europe – children, young and older people, women, LGBTI people, people with disabilities, undocumented migrants, Roma and others from persecuted ethnic or religious backgrounds, carers and the people that provide invaluable services to these people.
IGLYO has been a member of the Social Platform since 2022, and we are eager to collaborate with them on LGBTQI youth topics.
UNITED for Intercultural Action is the European network against nationalism, racism, fascism and in support of migrants, refugees and minorities. UNITED coordinates campaigns, organises conferences, takes part in projects, produces publications and undertakes advocacy work to protest against discrimination and promote our shared vision for a diverse and inclusive society.
IGLYO is happy to be partners with UNITED, and we share their values such as intercultural communication, diversity and human rights.
The Union of Jewish Students represents the voice of 9,000 Jewish students, spanning over 75 Jewish Societies (JSocs) on campuses across the UK and Ireland. We worked together with our common youth and student communities and hosted events together.
