An Online Course at Your Own Pace!
Our Member the Lithuanian Gay League (LGL) just published a new opportunity! "Tools to Prevent and Combat Violence against LGBTI+ Children and Youth” is an online course tailored to individuals interested in matters of sexual and gender diversity in childhood. This course is entirely self-paced and free, and upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate to validate their accomplishment.
The course focuses on preventing and addressing violence against LGBTIQ+ children and teenagers and consists of 5 modules, one per week, for a total duration of 5 weeks. The course has a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) format, which means that the modules consist of explanatory videos as well as reading material that each student can view at their own pace. The course is in English, and the audio-visual materials are subtitled in English. The MOOC starts on Monday 6 November and ends on Sunday the 10 December 2023.
The modules of the “Tools to prevent and combat violence against LGBTI+ children and youth” course are as follows:
- Module 1: Introduction to sexual and gender diversity in childhood, paying attention to terminology and main theoretical perspectives on sexual and gender diversity.
- Module 2: Analysis of violence against LGBTI+ children and youth and intersectional overviews of violence.
- Module 3: Context of violence against LGBTI+ children and youth and opportunities for empowerment.
- Module 4: Assisting LGBTI+ children and youth
- Module 5: LGBTIQ Children in Vulnerable Contexts.
This opportunity is co-organised by our Member Lithuanian Gay League (LGL) as well as the University of Girona, Rey Juan Carlos University, University of Coimbra, University of Palermo, Hatter Society, and Bilitis Foundation.
