A successful worldwide screen ride!
Congratulations to another cohort of graduates of our Global Online Activist Academy! This IGLYO online programme is tailored for worldwide young activists between 18 to 30 years who are at the beginning of their activist careers and are passionate about activism, LGBTQI rights, learning and collaborating with fellow queer activists from all around the world.
This year, over the course of three weeks, participants took part in six expert-facilitated workshops covering topics such as legal and policy equality frameworks, fundraising strategies, effective advocacy design, narrative framing, audience mobilisation, and well-being in activism. After that, they undertook one real-life task to apply the skills they learned, receiving valuable feedback from the Activist Academy experts.
Once again, the diversity of perspectives and experiences among the 54 worldwide participants spanning 32 countries from Argentina to Japan, from Kenya to Indonesia (just to name a few!), made the Academy a unique, transformative and impactful experience. Together, we explored innovative approaches, shared insights, and honed skills that will undoubtedly contribute to advancing LGBTQI rights globally.
Once again, congratulations to all 14 teams and individual participants who made it to the finish line. And a heartfelt thank you to our incredible experts for their workshops and our dedicated mentors for making the Academy happen.
