Cheers to a new worldwide learning journey!
The third edition of IGLYO's Global Online Activist Academy was yet another worldwide journey of learning, implementing, and having fun!
We were delighted to welcome one of the most geographically diverse groups IGLYO has ever seen. We had more than 40 young LGBTQI activists taking part from Indonesia to Ireland, from Kazakhstan to Kenya, from Turkey to Tanzania, to name a few.
In the first part, we welcomed a variety of experts who facilitated sessions on political storytelling, digital campaigning, public speaking and personal narratives for change. Teams of activists then worked collaboratively on their challenges while receiving feedback from their mentors, before presenting their challenges to the jury and other participants, who all voted for their favourite projects.
We congratulate the Quacktivists and the Rainbow Universe Team for arriving on top of the leaderboard, and winning a €500 cash prize. We also thank our experts, team, and amazing participants for another fruitful Global Online Activist Academy.
Take a look back
Want to see how it went? Watch this short video in which laureates Quinn Arijs (They/Them, Belgium) and Arisdo González (He/Him, Indonesia) tell us about their experience taking part in the online Activist Academy back in May 2022, how it will impact their future and why you should join the upcoming in-person edition as well.
The Global Online Activist Academy 2022 was organised with the support of the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) 2021-2027 programme of the European Union, and the Dutch Ministry of Education Culture & Science.
