About this Webinar
Racism within LGBTQI communities creates inequities and limits access to spaces intended to be safe and affirming. This webinar aims to help LGBTQI organisations and activists address the barriers faced by those of us queer young people who are BIPOC*[1] and racialised in activist spaces, equipping participants with strategies for fostering inclusivity, centring anti-racism, and embedding equitable practices within their organisations and movements.
On Tuesday 25 February 2025, from 12:30-14:00 CET, IGLYO will host a Webinar on Anti-Racism within LGBTQI Activism. Through a mix of research insights, lived experiences, and practical recommendations, this webinar will empower LGBTQI activists, volunteers, and staff to create safer, more inclusive activist spaces that actively dismantle systemic inequities and amplify diversity.
You can register for the webinar on this page. The Zoom link will be sent to you upon approval from our team. For any questions, please contact our Programmes Officer Ali (they/them) at ali@iglyo.org.
This webinar is free and open to everyone who's 18 years old and above, but it is primarily aimed at LGBTQI young people aged 18-30.
[1] BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, (and) People of Colour and has been used as a commonplace term to group together diverse and different communities that may not necessarily have anything in common other than a shared yet unique experience of discrimination along ethnic, racial, and/or colonial axis of domination. The use of this term isn't meant to erase the richness of racial and ethnic diversity but rather to refer to individuals and communities affected by racism, colourism, and/or xenophobia when considering large-scale phenomena and structures of power.
