A successful Second Edition!
For the second year of the Activist Academy, we got together in Predeal, Romania, under the flooding rain and amidst the bears roaming around the hotel, together with 20 international participants from across the IGLYO network.
Split into three distinct stages — team building, skills acquisition and action learning —, the course not only taught young people practical skills, but gave them opportunities to put their learning into practice straight away through a series of group challenges.
The programme consisted of group building activities, a menu of skills-based workshops led by experts from international LGBTQI organisations, the European student movement, and IGLYO’s own trainers (IGLYO, All Out, ESU and Roma and youth grassroot movement in Romania), and a series of group challenges to practise the skills they had learnt.
And to end on a high note, participants had a lot of fun practicing their public speeches and showing the amazing campaigns they had produced in only half a day. Congratulations to all the graduates!
