LGBTQI youth continue to face significant barriers to full and equitable participation in sports, and sports environments often remain exclusionary and unsafe spaces for LGBTQI young people.

To address these challenges, IGLYO is commissioning a Qualitative Research Study on LGBTQI Inclusion in Sports to document queer young people’s experiences in sports, which will explore key themes such as discrimination, access to safe and affirming sports environments (including in formal and non-formal education), the impact of exclusionary policies, and best practices for fostering inclusion.

The findings will contribute to ongoing advocacy efforts at the European level, informing policy discussions on LGBTQI inclusion in sports and supporting the development of more inclusive and equitable sports environments and structures.
