About
Pink Life (Pembe Hayat) LGBTI+ Solidarity Association is the first and only trans rights association in Turkey, founded by trans women in 2006 in Ankara. Pink Life envisions a world in which people live in peace, solidarity, and love without fear of expressing their gender identities, where diversity and colourfulness are cherished, free from any discrimination and segregation.
Pink Life’s main programmes include the International Sex Worker Rights Day (3 March), the Day of Equality with Trans People (18 June), Trans Day of Remembrance (20 November), the Dilek Ince Clothing Bank, and the Pink Life QueerFest — which is the first and only LGBTI+ themed film festival in Turkey, organised since 2011.
The main programs of Pink Life also include providing psycho-social, psychological, and legal consultancy; reporting and monitoring human rights violations against trans people in Turkey; conducting lobbying and advocacy activities; strengthening trans media representation and visibility; and capacity building towards the trans community and other related stakeholders.
