The Free Colours Association (FCA) was established to empower the LGBTI+ persons living in Bursa and the neighbouring provinces in the Marmara Region of Turkey by LGBTI+ community members and LGBTI+ activists.

Founded in 2013 as an LGBTI+ student club at Uludağ University, the organisation later transitioned to operate as the LGBTI+ Studies Group under the Nilüfer Municipality City Council Youth Assembly in 2014. FCA has continued its activities as an official organisation since obtaining its status in 2016.

Their mission

Through combating against hatred, discrimination and prejudice based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender characteristics and gender expression, FCA's mission is to empower LGBTI+ persons and promote human rights.

FCA aims to ensure access to universal human rights and equal rights for LGBTI+ persons. The association produces policies that center queer and feminist methods in the fields of women's rights, the rights of people living with HIV, refugee rights, animal rights, and ecological rights. The Free Colours is the only LGBTI+ association in Bursa and collaborates closely by with other LGBTI+ organisations.
