About

JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF)

JMBF is an independent, non-profit, and non-partisan human rights organisation, registered in France in 2023 under the Association Law of 1901. The organisation is dedicated to promoting the defence, education, and realisation of human rights, with a particular emphasis on civil and political rights for all individuals, regardless of gender, caste, race, faith, or sexual orientation.

JMBF is especially focused on protecting the rights of sexual minority groups in Bangladesh, who often face discrimination and persecution. Through its advocacy and educational initiatives, the organisation seeks to raise awareness, empower marginalised communities, and foster a culture of equality and acceptance, with a strong commitment to defending LGBTQI+ rights. JMBF aims to build a society where human rights are universally respected, upheld, and accessible to everyone.

Their mission

JMBF’s mission is to defend human rights, advocate for social justice, and empower marginalised communities in Bangladesh and internationally. It focuses on combating discrimination and impunity affecting sexual minorities (LGBTQI+), ethnic-Indigenous groups, religious minorities (Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Ahmadiyya), and social minorities (Dalit) in Bangladesh.

JMBF upholds the principles of the United Nations, Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the European Convention of Human Rights in Bangladesh. The organisation seeks truth, justice, and reparations for serious human rights violations, offering physical, legal, and moral support to victims.

JMBF promotes education and training to prevent further human rights abuses and ensures access to support from human rights organisations, helping communities build strong institutions and local defenders. Through advocacy, lobbying, and campaigning, JMBF raises awareness and protects the rights of sexual minority people and other vulnerable groups in Bangladesh.
