Colour Youth

Colour Youth — LGBTQ Youth Community of Athens is a non-profit association from and for young LGBTQ+ people in Athens, Greece. Their values are absolute respect for human rights and diversity, democracy, transparency, active participation of young people and responsibility. They act against homo-, lesbian-, bi-, and trans-phobia, heteronormativity, heterosexism and sexism, as well as all forms of exclusion, hatred and discrimination.

Colour Youth creates an active and united LGBTQ+ youth community to support and empower LGBTQ+ youth through education and mutual support aimed at personal development and socialisation.

Their activities include :

• Open weekly meetings which are a welcoming, safe space for LGBTQ+ youth to be themselves;
• Education on LGBTQ+ issues;
• Psychological support groups for LGBTQ+ youth;
• Representing LGBTQ+ youth before institutions;
• Promoting, defending and fighting for the rights of LGBTQ+ youth;
• Informing, raising awareness and mobilising society about LGBTQ+ issues, such as equality, discrimination and mental and sexual health.
