About
Accept Association was founded in 1996 as a human rights organisation focused on promoting LGBTQIA+ rights and culture. It has been part of the Anti-discrimination Coalition since 2000.
Accept organises community events that promote LGBTQIA+ visibility, such as the Bucharest Pride and the LGBTQIA+ History Month. The organisation works closely with and supports other queer organisations and informal groups.
Accept has over 150 volunteers in departments such as social media, translations, event organisation, legal counselling. They also have a strong advocacy and strategic litigation component, particularly around legal gender recognition for trans people and legal recognition of LGBTQIA+ families.
Finally, Accept also works on topics such as access to health, hate crime response, education, LGBTQIA+ history and culture.
